Wedding ceremony style Oomi Shrine - Shinto Wedding Ceremony
number of people 28 guests

Initially, I was looking for a wedding venue in Kobe. However, the ones who I wanted to see the wedding the most were my grandparents who live in my hometown of Sasayama. My fiancé's mother, who lives in Osaka, suggested, "Instead of having them travel far, why not have the ceremony locally?" I found out about NIPPONIA through an internet search, and my fiancé and I went there for a meal with my mother. We really liked both the food and the historic building, and I mentioned to the staff that we were considering a wedding there. They provided a thorough explanation, which was one of the deciding factors for us. Coincidentally, my maternal grandmother lives near NIPPONIA and it turns out she was familiar with the building from long ago. I am truly happy that we were able to hold the ceremony in our hometown.

The ceremony was held at a historic shrine familiar to the bride's mother
and the congratulations from the locals were also delightful.

The bride's hometown, Sasayama City. In this lush and beautiful place where the beauty of the four seasons can be enjoyed, a solemn shrine wedding was held. The Oohirume Shrine, familiar to the bride's mother, is a charming shrine built around the early Heian period. Surrounded by family who have cared for her until today, the couple made their vows. The bride, dressed in a black furisode, was eagerly awaited by her grandparents. The groom, who escorted the beautiful bride, looked dignified in his hakama. After such a traditional ceremony, a reception was held at the Sasayama Castle Town Hotel NIPPONIA, where they enjoyed dishes made with local ingredients, sharing a moment with family. For the local residents, weddings are a joyful event, and they offered their congratulations, saying, "Today is a wedding, right? Congratulations!" The bride expressed that she "rediscovered the charm of Sasayama that she hadn't noticed while living there." The groom and his parents also took a liking to Sasayama, making for a joyful new beginning.

Delicious meals and relaxing time
Family bonds deepen during the meal gathering.

The main reason for the couple's wedding is "to honor their families." A reception was planned so that their elderly grandparents could enjoy a relaxed time. The celebration began with the cutting of the wedding cake, inspired by the groom's emotional experience at his brother's reception. After the "first bite," the couple surprised their mothers with a "thanks bite," a lovely gesture that conveyed their gratitude through sweet cake. Following the couple's surprise, there was another surprise from the families for the couple! A heartfelt movie screening filled with childhood photos was prepared secretly by the families for this day, creating an emotional scene that conveyed their feelings. The climax was the reading of letters by the bride and groom, as both families listened deeply to their words of thanks. The celebration was enveloped in smiles and warm tears.

From the planner

The two of you, who always carry a calm atmosphere, are a gentle and very well-matched couple. I felt my heart warm with your thoughtful consideration for your grandparents during the meeting. Just like your feelings, it was very clear that all the guests love you both and are sincerely celebrating your marriage. When I received a request for a surprise DVD from the groom's sister, I felt the bond of family. Additionally, the small gifts to be given at the farewell are a heartfelt assortment of handmade sweets from both of you. We are very happy to assist in a wedding that reflects your personalities. In your modest words, the trust you have in each other shines through. Surely, you will build a peaceful home together. Wishing you both lasting happiness from now on!
