HOTEL VMG VILLA KYOTO / HOTEL VMG RESORT KYOTO: Notice of Changes to Management Structure and Facility Names

Starting from April 15, 2026
the name will be changed and operations will begin as three facilities

We would like to inform you that "HOTEL VMG RESORT KYOTO" and "HOTEL VMG VILLA KYOTO," located in Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture, will change their operational structure and name starting from April 15, 2026 (Wednesday). Additionally, some facilities will implement changes to the reservation system to better convey the individuality of the rooms and facilities.

"HOTEL VMG RESORT KYOTO" will operate with two independent accommodation buildings (Nene Building and Ryo-i Building) under a new facility name. Until now, this facility has been introduced as a "distributed hotel" that utilizes historical architecture scattered throughout the city of Kyoto. By perceiving the entire city as a single space, it provides visitors with experiences that naturally lead them to explore the city and interact with its people and culture, as well as private time spent in guest rooms located in various places.

In this change, while building on that way of thinking, we will review the names and reservation processes for each facility so that the unique characteristics, such as the location, building features, and concepts of stay, are communicated more clearly.

We will also change the facility name of 'HOTEL VMG VILLA KYOTO' to better convey the charm of private tranquility unique to a whole house rental, the presence of a garden and tea ceremony, and the quintessential Kyoto experience that can be fully enjoyed within the accommodation.

Furthermore, we will gradually proceed with updates to the spaces and services of each facility.

New facility name and the thoughts behind the name

【HOTEL VMG RESORT KYOTO】
Former: HOTEL VMG RESORT KYOTO Nene Building
New: The Villa Nene-no-Michi Kazeno Heritage
English notation: The Villa Nene-no-Michi Kazeno Heritage

The Villa Nene-no-Michi Kazeno Heritage is located facing Nene-no-Michi, in an area rich with the memories of Nene, the wife of Toyotomi Hideyoshi, such as Kodaiji Temple and Entokuin. Therefore, it straightforwardly embraces the geographical and historical significance of the name "Nene-no-Michi," incorporating the unique splendor and charm of the place into its name.
On the other hand, "Heritage" expresses a private stay that is not just a guest room, but a retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city and the flow of tourism, allowing one to savor the scenery and atmosphere from their own space. We aim to provide a stay experience that, while open to the city, allows guests to enjoy Kyoto from their own perspective.

Old: HOTEL VMG RESORT KYOTO Ryouitou
New: Hotel VMG Kyoto Kamogawa
English notation: Hotel VMG Kyoto Kamogawa

Hotel VMG Kyoto Kamogawa is located in the center of Kyoto, where the rivers Kamogawa and Takasegawa, as well as the areas of Kiyamachi and Pontocho, intersect with water, food, and urban ambiance. It is positioned as an accommodation that allows guests to enjoy the present-day Kyoto at a more accessible price.

【HOTEL VMG VILLA KYOTO】
Former: HOTEL VMG VILLA KYOTO
New: The Villa Higashiyama Roji Kazeno Heritage
English notation: The Villa Higashiyama Roji Kazeno Heritage

The name "Higashiyama Roji" embodies the idea of an entrance to gently step into the authentic aesthetic of Kyoto. "Roji" refers to the garden associated with a tea room in the world of tea ceremony, symbolizing a "space" or "introduction" to switch one's mind from the everyday to a quiet, extraordinary realm. We aim to provide a stay that encapsulates the unique private tranquility of an entire building rental, the ambiance of gardens and tea ceremony, and a quintessential Kyoto experience characteristic of Higashiyama.

This change aims to clarify and communicate the individuality of each facility, which has previously been presented as a single entity, based on their respective locations and styles of stay. Moving forward, we will continue to value the staying experience that utilizes historical architecture, while creating a stay experience that allows guests to feel the unique depth and tranquility of Kyoto, and we will update this progressively.
