The national Historic Site Takeda Castle Ruins, known as the "Castle in the Sky", has reopened after a winter closure period of about two months starting from March 1, 2025.
Registered as an Important Cultural Property, the "Takeda Castle Ruins" are located at the summit of Kojozan, also known as Torafusuyama, at an elevation of 353.7 meters.
Even after about 400 years since its abandonment, the stone walls of the main keep remain almost as they were at that time, making it very valuable.
The ethereal appearance of the Takeda Castle ruins floating in the sea of clouds is referred to as the "Castle in the Sky" and "Japan's Machu Picchu," and has been featured in numerous media.
In spring with cherry blossoms, summer with blue skies, and autumn to winter with sea of clouds. The Takeda Castle ruins, which show a fantastical appearance in every season, are also famous as one of Japan's top 100 castles and a sacred place for lovers.
A local guide will show you around the fascinating ruins of Takeda Castle.
You can leisurely explore the castle ruins, steeped in historical romance, while also experiencing the charm and atmosphere of the town of Takeda, all accompanied by detailed explanations.

Note that due to a limited number of guides, there may be cases where reservations cannot be accepted.

For information about the Takeda Castle ruins and surrounding attractions, we recommend the tourist information center in front of Takeda Station, or the "Information Center Sky Castle" located within the grounds of the "Takeda Castle Town Hotel EN (formerly Kimura Sake Brewery)."
There are exhibitions and a theater related to the castle, where you can obtain various information about the history of Takeda Castle and surrounding attractions.
