Features and attractions of this plan.
You can stay in a whole building surrounded by designs
that harmonize with the appearance of the castle.
Enjyukaku Bekkan, located on the high stone walls of the San-no-Maru area of Marugame Castle, provides a rare environment for staying within the castle.
From the wide veranda made of cherry wood located on the southern side, one can enjoy a sense of openness unique to a high place, while gazing at the distant views of Sanuki Fuji (Iinoyama), the townscape of Marugame, and the vastness of the Sanuki Plain.
In a space based on the shoin-zukuri style, elements such as a double-beamed ceiling made of Yakusugi, a transom with Paulownia patterns, wide verandas made of cherry wood, and snow-viewing glass are still being inherited from that era.
Cultural experiences that can be chosen according to your stay style.
As an option to enrich your stay in a more profound and personal way, you can now freely combine cultural experiences from the "Marugame Castle Experience" program, which has been offered at Marugame Castle, according to your itinerary and purpose of stay.
You can choose from experiences unique to Marugame, such as a welcome performance by the Marugame Taiko Preservation Society, a private tour of the castle after general closing hours, and a Marugame fan-making experience, according to your preferences.
By selecting only the necessary items, this accommodation style has become more adaptable to diverse itineraries, such as extended stays and tours around the Setouchi region.

About Enjyukaku Bekkan
Enjyukaku Bekkan is a historical wooden structure built in 1933 (Showa 8) within the San-no-Maru of Marugame Castle. The name derives from the retirement room of the 6th feudal lord, Takakiro Kyogoku. During its renovation, design elements and materials from the residence of Viscount Takashu Kyogoku in Azabu, Tokyo were acquired, and it was relocated and constructed as a VIP room.
The main building, constructed in the style of an irregular hipped roof with tile roofing, is surrounded by a lower roof covered with copper sheets. The entrance features a gabled roof design and moon-viewing windows that allow light to enter. This space is based on the Shoin-zukuri style, with carefully selected materials and specifications, maintaining the dignity of a former feudal lord's residence.
