A one-night-only dinner party in a Meiji-era Western-style building, overlooking the night view of Hakodate.

The 'Old Public Hall of Hakodate Ward', an Important Cultural Property and a symbol of modern development in Hakodate, will be exclusively rented for one night to host a premium dinner featuring abundant seasonal ingredients from the southern region. Normally closed to the public at night and, due to its historical value, food and drink are generally prohibited.

(Note: This activity can be added as an option to your already reserved accommodation plan. It cannot be booked as a standalone activity without a stay.)

In the 43rd year of the Meiji era, this prestigious modern building was constructed with donations from townspeople, including Teppei Soma, and was once the residence of Emperor Taisho during his time as Crown Prince. You can enjoy a luxurious one-night-only dinner in the fully reserved grand hall and VIP room of this Western-style mansion, which features a striking blue-gray and yellow exterior and a dazzling chandelier, while reflecting on its history of over 100 years.

Fusion Dinner

We present a special fusion cuisine, uniquely crafted by a local chef for this space, which blends Western techniques with Japanese tastes. Dishes include smoked mackerel with eggplant, sautéed cod roe from Hakodate Bay, steamed Kin-Ki fish, and steak from Hakodate Wagyu, all generously using seasonal delicacies from the southern region, vividly reflecting the culture and landscape of Hakodate in each plate.

Not only can you deeply learn about the history of the building through a special guided tour, but we also offer costume rentals for retro dresses and tuxedos to match the glamorous atmosphere of the Meiji era, allowing you to take commemorative photos. Furthermore, beautiful live performances on the grand piano, violin, marimba, and more resonate through the magnificent architecture of the grand hall, making your special dinner even more elegant and splendid.
