The couple, considering their hometowns, chose to spend their important day in Fukuoka, specifically in Dazaifu, as a location that is convenient for both families to gather. They invited their parents and siblings for a family wedding. To ensure that everyone could enjoy the day without burden, they held the ceremony at Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine and the reception at this venue. Additionally, since the couple lives far away, they selected this venue because it allows for online meetings. Given the current circumstances, they created a precious opportunity for both families to gather, deepening their family connections.
On the day of the wedding, clouds covered the sky, and there were moments when guests had to use umbrellas while moving. However, as they headed towards the main hall after the ceremony, the weather became clear enough that umbrellas were no longer needed! It was as if the rain had stopped just for the families involved. The sight of everyone walking with umbrellas also created a charming atmosphere.
Upon entering the venue, guests were greeted by the couple's heartfelt welcome goods. These included pre-wedding photos that could not be seen on the actual day, a welcome board adorned with shimenawa (a traditional Japanese rope), and various items made using masu (a wooden sake cup). From the very first place welcoming the guests, a modern Japanese atmosphere was created. During the party, the families aimed to connect more deeply, fostering lively conversations by arranging everyone around a single table. The couple actively participated in the discussions, allowing everyone to see each other's faces, which created a cozy atmosphere unique to a small wedding.
The bride, adorned with a hair change from her traditional cotton hood, appeared with an arrangement of mizuhiki (decorative cords), presenting herself in a more splendid manner that harmonized with the venue's decor. The dishes served to everyone were carefully selected, considering the family members present, with options that were easy to eat with chopsticks, regardless of age. At the conclusion, both the bride and groom read letters to their parents, expressing their gratitude in words that resonated deeply, allowing everyone present to feel the heartfelt emotions shared. Even without many elaborate performances, the focus on each item and gesture, along with the sincere thoughts behind them, created a time where both families felt more connected and their feelings intertwined.
