Hakodate, Hokkaido. The Nationally Designated Important Cultural Property "The Old Soma Residence," built in 1908, will begin its journey on March 1, 2026, as a hotel called "Old Soma Residence Kazeno Heritage," hosting three groups per day.

The guest rooms, including a maisonette converted from a traditional storehouse and a living room with a panoramic view of the port, all have different designs. There are a total of three guest rooms where historical charm and modern sensibility gently blend.

Room 1: A spacious living room with a panoramic view of Hakodate Port (70㎡).

Room 2: A heavy and serene space (132㎡) restored from an Important Cultural Property, an earthen storehouse.

Room 3: A space (55㎡) that evokes a sense of historical depth, adorned with a map related to the estate.

Luxurious experience in the depths of the Important Cultural Property 'Main Building'.

Check-in takes place in the hearth room of the main building, which has a history of over 110 years. At night, the most prestigious room in the inn, the main sitting room, transforms into a lounge exclusively for guests. Enjoy carefully selected wines from Hokkaido and original cocktails in the space where the former master welcomed guests.

Typically, cultural heritage sites are not accessible to the general public at dusk. We will hold a special tour that unravels the architectural beauty that emerges as the sun sets and the lights come on, accompanied by explanations from our staff.

In addition, we offer premium dinners in historical buildings and breakfast tours where you can closely observe market auctions and taste Hakodate's seafood, as well as five experience programs that allow you to touch the essence of Hakodate.
