The black edamame from Tanba Sasayama has a designated sales start date, and the peak season for tasting it is limited to a short period from early October to the end of October. We have prepared a special experience where you can enjoy this representative local specialty, harvested from the field, at the hotel breakfast the following day.

  ・There is a shuttle service from the front desk to the experience location. For moving between the field and the shop at the experience location, we kindly ask that you make your own way (approximately a 5 to 10 minute walk).

Before we start the harvest, we will explain the history and characteristics of the Tamba black edamame, as well as the harvesting methods.

The 'Tamba Black Soybean', a variety of Tamba black edamame, is said to be one of the largest black soybeans in Japan, characterized by its beautiful glossy appearance. On the other hand, it is a delicate variety that is easily affected by weather conditions, making cultivation difficult and requiring a lot of effort and skilled techniques.

You will learn about the points of harvesting black edamame, which are carefully cultivated by farmers in Tanba Sasayama, while actually viewing them in the field.

16:40 Actual Harvesting (Duration: 10 minutes)
Finally, it's time for the harvesting experience. You will harvest the seasonal black edamame that has ripened in the field, with guidance from the farmers, using your own hands.

From the harvested plants, we remove the black edamame pods one by one. If you wish, you can also take the entire plant home.

It is a moment to savor the autumn bounty of Tanba-Sasayama with all five senses, as it is felt through the actual harvest in the fields.

After the experience, if you would like to purchase additional black soybeans for souvenirs, we can guide you to the shop.

The next morning, enjoy freshly harvested black edamame at breakfast
We will prepare the black edamame that you harvested yourself as "edamame rice" for the hotel breakfast the next morning. Please enjoy the sweetness and texture of the black edamame along with your morning meal.

  ・In the event of a typhoon, storm warning, or heavy rain warning, or if it is judged that ensuring safety in the field is difficult.
  ・If rain or thunder is expected.
  ・Even if it is sunny on the day, if the condition of the field is poor due to rainfall up to the day before, and it is judged that a safe experience is difficult.
