Dining

At The Villa Nene-no-Michi Kazeno Heritage, we offer an exclusive breakfast for guests that overlooks the Place of Scenic Beauty of Heian Shrine's gardens. Enjoy a special morning that reflects the seasons and aesthetic sensibilities of Kyoto, all while being enveloped in the pure morning light.

Additionally, upon request, we can arrange traditional Kyoto catering and guide you to a series of restaurants that utilize the historical architecture of Higashiyama. We propose a stay that allows you to freely experience Kyoto's food culture, tailored to how you wish to spend your day and the purpose of your trip.

Breakfast

Place of Scenic Beauty "Shinen" overlooking
the pure and elegant morning time

The venue for breakfast is the Heian Jingu Event Hall, which stands within the grounds of Heian Jingu. Beyond the large windows, the nationally designated Place of Scenic Beauty, the Shinen, unfolds. Only guests who stay at Kazeno Heritage can enjoy breakfast in this location.

The garden, created by the seventh-generation landscape architect Jibei Ogawa, represents the Meiji era and features the Higashiyama mountains as a borrowed landscape, a pond filled with rich water, deep greenery, and seasonal flowers. In the soft morning light, the surface of the water shimmers, and the only sound is the gentle rustling of the trees in the wind, creating a tranquil moment. You can experience the pure and calm mornings of Kyoto, which are different from daytime visits.

While enjoying the view of the garden, savor a Kyoto-style Western breakfast served in a jūbako and a steamer. Amidst the harmony of the dishes, the food, and the garden as one scenic view, please take a moment to step away from the hustle and bustle of daily life and gently welcome the beginning of your day.

After breakfast,
a quiet stroll in Okazaki

Walking in the grounds of Heian Shrine, which is still quiet before and after breakfast, is also recommended. The vibrant red-painted shrine buildings emerge against the clear morning air, purifying and preparing you for a day in Kyoto.

In the surrounding area, there are places that convey the traditional culture and modern history of Kyoto, such as Nanzen-ji Temple, Murin-an, the Kyoto City Kyocera Museum of Art, and the Biwa Lake Canal.

Rather than simply finishing breakfast as one meal, enjoy it as the beginning of a day that continues from the garden to the city of Okazaki. This is also a unique way to experience Kyoto, especially at Nene's Detached Villa.

Kyoto catering

Relax and enjoy
the hospitality unique to Kyoto

In Kyoto, the culture of 'catering,' which involves preparing dishes and delivering them to guests, is still cherished and passed down. Guests can slowly savor beautifully arranged dishes made with seasonal ingredients in a private space while traveling. This is a form of hospitality unique to Kyoto, distinct from dining out.

After a day of walking around the city, for those who wish to spend a quiet time in their rooms, families with small children, or those who want to leisurely enjoy time with their loved ones, we can arrange catering services according to your preferences.

We will inquire about the details of your meal, such as its content, budget, food allergies, and the number of diners, and suggest a meal suitable for your stay that day. Please enjoy the flavors of Kyoto to your heart's content in a historic guest room, along with the evening view of Higashiyama and the tranquility of the night.

* Catering is by reservation only.
* The content of the dishes and the arrangements may vary depending on your preferences, number of people, budget, and the store's operating status.
* Please consult us early as there may be cases where we cannot meet your requests.
