Ebisudo Hall
The Ebisu Shrine, located at the northernmost part of Honmachi Street in the Takehara Townscape Preservation District, boasts the title of the oldest and largest among the small shrines in Takehara. It has been revered as a guardian deity of commerce since the days when the salt industry thrived. Every October, a festival is held to pray for the prosperity of commerce. It is also famous as a filming location for the movie 'The Girl Who Leapt Through Time' (1983) directed by Nobuhiko Obayashi.
