Kurotakiyama

Mount Kurotaki, located in Takehara City, Hiroshima Prefecture at an elevation of 266 meters, is a scenic spot that offers breathtaking views of the beautiful islands of the Seto Inland Sea. The walking paths are well-maintained, making it easy for beginners and families to enjoy hiking. Within the mountain, there are scattered Kannon halls and thirty-three Kannon stone statues, which have been cherished as objects of faith since the Nara period, making it a historically significant mountain.

Highlights

There is a Kannon Hall and 33 stone Buddha statues, and the view from the mountain is magnificent, allowing one to see Okunoshima Island, the Geiyo Islands, and the distant Shikoku mountain range.

This mountain, which has a long history as an object of faith, is dotted with a Kannon Hall built during the Tenpyo period and thirty-three stone statues of Kannon.

By combining the tourist route from Chūnai Port to Ōkunoshima Island, it is also possible to fully enjoy the nature and history of Takehara in one day.
