Finally, on March 1st, the Old Soma Residence Kazeno Heritage will have its grand opening. We would like to inform the local community about a special free opening at the Nipponia Hotel Hakodate Port Town.

On March 1st, the Important Cultural Property 'The Old Soma Residence' in Hakodate will grand open as the hotel 'Old Soma Residence Kazeno Heritage'.

On this occasion, we have decided to establish a new 'Special Free Admission Day for Local Residents'.

The main building of The Old Soma Residence, which condenses the essence of Meiji-era architectural techniques and Hakodate's aesthetic sense.
We want to connect this place, once built by the first Teppei Soma as the "pride of the town," with the future together with the local community again. This is a new initiative imbued with such a wish.

Additionally, starting this year, children under elementary school age from the local area can visit for free on all open days (April to November). We encourage you to experience these historical buildings, which are treasures of the community, together with the children who will carry on the next generation.

Residents of Hakodate City, as well as the Oshima and Hiyama districts
(Please present a public identification that can confirm your current address upon entry)

Regarding children's admission, children under elementary school age living in the above area can enter for free on all open days.
(Accompanying adults are required to pay the regular admission fee, except on special free admission days.)
