On 10/24 (Saturday), special experience of the Ueno Tenjin Festival (Yoiyama) Danjiri procession.

The "Ueno Tenjin Festival" is the largest autumn festival in Iga Ueno, boasting a history of over 400 years, and is recognized as a UNESCO intangible cultural heritage. The sight of the splendid and luxurious floats, along with the powerful procession of over a hundred demons, parading through the castle town is truly breathtaking.
In this activity, we have prepared a special viewing area exclusively for guests where you can see the danjiri up close. Additionally, you can enjoy explanations of the festival by local residents, as well as the experience of riding on the danjiri.
At night, you can participate in the fantastical procession of illuminated floats unique to the festival, alongside local residents, and experience the sense of unity that the festival brings.
Part of the revenue from this plan will be used for the preservation and continuation activities of the Ueno Tenjin Festival, as well as for the maintenance and development of local culture. Your participation will also contribute to supporting the festival for the future.

Flow of the day
15:00 - Guided to seating exclusively for NIPPONIA guests.

From the reserved seats, you can enjoy watching the danjiri while directly hearing the history and behind-the-scenes stories of the festival, which have been passed down through generations from local elders and townspeople. We will also provide hospitality with Japanese sweets and tea from Kogetsudo.

The danjiri stops in front of a designated area, where a special performance is presented. You can avoid the crowds and enjoy close-up viewing and photography. Additionally, there is a special opportunity to ride the danjiri, which is usually only available to a limited number of local residents.

16:00~Free Time
You are invited to freely stroll through the bustling castle town during the festival. Enjoy the liveliness of the food stalls and the very atmosphere of the town.

6:00 PM - Experience of the Night Danjiri Parade


As night falls, the festival reveals another aspect of itself. During the evening procession, where the brightly lit danjiri floats circle the town, participants don the same traditional jackets as the locals and actually join in the procession. The time spent walking shoulder to shoulder with the townspeople, rather than as mere tourists, is particularly special within this experience.

・This activity is limited to the first 10 participants. Registration will be stopped once the capacity is reached.
・Please participate in comfortable clothing and shoes. For safety reasons, skirts, heels, and sandals are not allowed.
・The decision to hold this experience will be based on the festival's judgment. In case of cancellation, participants will be contacted the day before or on the morning of the event.
・After confirming your reservation, we will check the availability for participation and inform you through Kazeno Heritage General Inquiries (VMG General Inquiries). It may take about a week to receive a response due to coordination with the accepting party.
If acceptance is difficult, we will contact you to discuss options, including rescheduling.
・Cancellations after the reservation is completed may incur cancellation fees according to the following policy.

1 day before: 80% of the accommodation fee
7 days before: 50% of the accommodation fee
14 days before: 10% of the accommodation fee
No-show cancellation: 100% of the accommodation fee
