Ueno Tenjin Festival: Experience of Traditional Festival Music on an Autumn Night

The "Ueno Tenjin Festival" is the largest autumn festival in Iga Ueno, boasting a history of over 400 years, and is recognized as a UNESCO intangible cultural heritage. The sight of the splendid and luxurious floats, along with the powerful procession of over a hundred demons, parading through the castle town is truly breathtaking.

This plan allows guests who stay before the festival to observe and participate in the local music practice sessions.

Participants will have the opportunity to hear directly from local people about the history of the Ueno Tenjin Festival and the feelings that have been passed down through generations, while also observing the practice of traditional music (ohayashi) up close. Furthermore, by participating in a simple bell performance experience, they will be able to feel both the difficulty and enjoyment of synchronizing with others.
