On Wednesday, April 29, 2026, the long-awaited new facility, "NAIKI Building," will open at Nipponia Hotel Iga Ueno Castle Town. This hotel, which has been restoring Registered Tangible Cultural Property and other buildings that are approximately 150 years old, has now repurposed a Meiji-era storehouse as a "storehouse sauna." The number of guest rooms will also be expanded to a total of 16, and dog-friendly stays will now be possible.

About the NAIKI building

The newly opened building faces the Yamato Highway, which was once used by feudal lords from the Yamato region during their alternate attendance in the Edo period.
It has been renovated from a structure that served as an office and workshop for a long-established wholesale store, "Tanaka Seika Danya," founded around 1870 during the Meiji era.
Named "NAIKI" after the braiding method "Naiki-gumi," the building features a dog-friendly suite in the row house section and a sauna in the storehouse.

A private 'Warehouse Sauna' with a history spanning 110 years.

The old fruit wholesale store, which has a history of over 110 years, has been transformed into a genuine sauna. Preserving its heavy atmosphere, it is a completely private space enveloped in tranquility. Enjoy a luxurious time with a complete rental system for 90 minutes per session (reservation required). It is equipped with a self-rouleau set, sauna hats, mats, and other abundant sauna goods.
After the sauna, head to the open outdoor area overlooking the courtyard. You should be able to comfortably "tune in" while feeling the seasonal breeze in the cold bath and outdoor bath.

While utilizing the design of historical buildings, we offer two dedicated guest rooms with private gardens where you can comfortably spend time with your beloved dog. It is within walking distance from Iga Ueno Castle. This is a perfect location where you can leisurely walk with your dog while feeling the rich greenery and the breeze of history.
