Art Book Fair 'Waza Waza' held on September 26 (Saturday) and 27 (Sunday)
Thank you for your continued support.
On September 26 (Saturday) and 27 (Sunday), 2026, the art book fair "Waza Waza — Iga Art Book Fair 2026" will be held at the Iga Historic Site, Former Suhirodo.
About the event
Waza Waza — Iga Art Book Fair 2026 is a two-day fair where art books and their creators gather from both domestic and international locations. The venue is the Sukohodo in Iga City, Mie Prefecture. This building was constructed two hundred years ago as a domain school and became the oldest public library in Mie Prefecture during the Meiji era, where local residents visited to read books for about eighty years. After the library moved in 1984, the large hall with seventy-two tatami mats inside has remained as a "space" without books.
What gathers are books called art books. Their forms vary from general books like collections of works or poetry to experimental books that consider the book itself as a form and concept of art.
People who go out of their way to create books come all the way to Iga and hand over their books personally.
Enjoy a special two days where creators and deliverers from both domestic and international gather, and culture intersects in the land of Iga.
