Iga Ueno, surrounded by mountains, has developed its unique culture, including ninja traditions, haiku, and Iga kumihimo, away from the outside world. Additionally, it has reached the present without suffering major war damage, allowing historical buildings from the Edo, Meiji, and modern eras to remain.

The San-no-machi area around the KANMURI building is a charming area where the streets have remained almost unchanged since the Edo period, serving as one of the central urban areas of the castle town. It features the designated tangible cultural property, the samurai residence "Irimaki Family Residence," along with many old merchant houses and samurai residences still in existence today.
As the stage for the "Ueno Tenjin Festival's Danjiri Event," which is registered as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage, each town along San-no-machi Street, which carries the demon procession, preserves and manages hundreds of demon masks that are active during the festival.

While adding modern comforts, we have preserved as much of the original space as possible. Therefore, although the insulation, airtightness, and soundproofing are not high, we offer a special space where you can enjoy the beautiful design that allows you to feel the breath of the time within the accumulated history.

A guest room that was originally used as a cooking inn's tatami room, retaining many historical furnishings.
The first floor living area features two spaces: a Japanese-style room with bamboo decor throughout and a tea room-style tatami area.
We also recommend taking a morning bath surrounded by the scent of cypress and the soft light filtering through frosted glass.
Please enjoy the carefully designed space, including the bamboo-carved transom and the natural cherry wood ceiling shaped like an umbrella.

The carefully crafted designs, such as fusuma, hanging scrolls, and walls that evoke the accumulation of history, all provide a sense of the unique charm that is difficult to experience in modern architecture, characteristic of cultural properties.

The guest room, renovated from a building originally used as a storehouse, features a two-story layout. The compact yet comfortable space is perfect for solo travelers or creating memories with a loved one.
The entrance exterior is adorned with a "namako wall," a rare traditional design known as "kotsunagi" that is unique to the region, allowing you to experience the distinct culture of Iga.
