A blast that stimulates the five senses
A 2-night, 3-day retreat journey

Challenging the Most Dangerous National Treasure in Japan: Pilgrimage Climbing at Mt. Mitokusan / Shugendo Retreat Stay

This program focuses on the pilgrimage and climbing to the National Treasure, Nageiredo, located in the Japan Heritage "Mt. Mitokusan Sanbutsu-ji," sharpening the body and senses. The time spent overcoming the steep rocky terrain of Mt. Mitokusan, where ascetics once pushed themselves, becomes the ultimate dynamic meditation, shedding the noise of everyday life and immersing in the present moment.
※ This activity is limited to April to November.

2. Abandoned Railway Track Meditation & Walking | Deep Breathing Retreat Stay

The abandoned railway track of the "Former National Rail Kurayoshi Line," where trains once ran and is now being engulfed by bamboo groves. Morning light pours through the gaps in the bamboo forest onto the abandoned track, where a meditation experience is offered by the monk of "Shukubo Jizo-in (Kurayoshi City)." After meditation, there is a walking session in a quiet space deep within the tunnel, where light and sound are blocked out.
This program makes you want to take a deep breath in a moment that blends with nature.
3. Immersive Folk Craft Experience Spending Time with Artisans in a State of Mindfulness | Retreat Stay

A retreat to step away from daily multitasking and immerse yourself in Kurayoshi's "handicrafts."
In Tottori, known as the "sacred place of folk crafts," diving into the tradition that embodies the aesthetics of artisans and spending time facing materials with a clear mind leads to a "flow experience" where distractions fade away.
In this plan, you can choose an experience that resonates with your sensibilities from pottery (Kazuwayaki), blacksmithing, and weaving (Kurayoshi-Gasuri).
In each program, to help you feel the retreat journey proposed by Kazeno Kurayoshi more concretely, we introduce a model course for a 2-night, 3-day stay. It is also possible to add a stay for one night or consult about individual activities.
In the case of a one-night stay, please make a reservation for the one-night accommodation plan and
book the activities listed as 【experience only】on this page.
